VIA LATTEA ART

For the cultivated person with the highest expectations, the Via Lattea Art wall light is dedicated to contemporary Italian art from Tuscany, one of the renowned capitals of art.

We start with original paintings created by respected Italian artists and, using serographic printing, we create a fabric shade with the image of the painting on it. Then we attach this shade to the lamp structure which contains LED lighting. The shade is attached by means of PrimoMaestro’s revolutionary, patented new system which uses magnetic attraction to hold the shade on the structure. When the light is turned on, the image is illuminated from behind, the colors showing amazingly true to the original painting. A dimmer is provided.

An added feature is the possibility to change the “painting” by purchasing another shade separately.

This painting reveals Sylvia Teri’s fascination with the human body as a structure. We can feel the imposing solidity of the nude female figure in the shoulder, the arm, the head and the hand — all component forms made of bone and tissue that fit into place one by one to construct a figure  just as bricks and beams fit together to build houses. The viewer is struck not only by the powerful image but also by the energy emanating from this work.

THE ARTIST

SYLVIA TERI lives near Florence in Chianti.  After studying at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence and at the International School of Graphic Art “Il Bisonte,” she participated in individual and collective shows in several European countries as well as in the USA.  Besides Florence, her work has been exhibited in many other Italian cities where it has received enthusiastic reviews and her paintings are part of the permanent collections of modern art galleries in Italy, Greece and Korea.  Her studio, Studio Sitornino, is in Florence.

Sylvia’s primary interest is the human body as a structure, an architectural measurement of space and the perfect example of proportional harmony.
