VIA LATTEA ART

For the cultivated person with the highest expectations, the Via Lattea Art wall light is dedicated to contemporary Italian art from Tuscany, one of the renowned capitals of art.

We start with original paintings created by respected Italian artists and, using serographic printing, we create a fabric shade with the image of the painting on it. Then we attach this shade to the lamp structure which contains LED lighting. The shade is attached by means of PrimoMaestro’s revolutionary, patented new system which uses magnetic attraction to hold the shade on the structure. When the light is turned on, the image is illuminated from behind, the colors showing amazingly true to the original painting. A dimmer is provided.

An added feature is the possibility to change the “painting” by purchasing another shade separately.

AUTRE MONDE (OTHER WORLD)

In the painting, we see a golden sky with a blue circle which contains another circle, radiant and bright. It is there that we pass into the “other world.” It is through that portal that we search for where we are alive. The two large figures are observing the beautiful flamingos. Is this reality? Or perhaps reality is to be found in the pool of water or beyond the columns and the tree-lined avenue. Where do we find a world apart, an “Other World?” Where is our reality? Or what is it? Or what do we want it to be?

THE ARTIST

SIMONA POZZI lives and works in Chianti near Florence. Having studied at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Florence, she has participated in many collective and individual exhibits, the most recent of which was at the Castello di Gabbiano in Chianti, Tuscany. Although she also decorates porcelain and ceramics and creates jewelry and dolls, her great passion has always been and still is painting.

Simona frequently states that as she paints, she seeks a “secret garden.” For her, painting is to go beyond, to see that which is not easily seen, to discover and create another dimension — or “simply to find it.” She would like the viewers of her paintings to simply look at them and find something that stimulates thought and emotions. She feels that art is a portal that doesn’t require great discourse or words. “Art, in all its forms, does not need to be understood but rather felt. Words are not necessary.”
